The firm was founded by Andre Venturini in 2018, with a focus on providing a more holistic approach to Brazilian patent practice. Andre Venturini
Founder & Patent Expert
Andre is a Brazilian IP specialist, whose practice focuses on the handling of patents in Brazil. He has worked with patents for over 20 years, including as partner and head of patents at some of the leading Brazilian IP firms.
Over this period, he handled the prosecution of the entire patent portfolio for some of the largest companies in the IT, Telecom and Oil & Gas sectors.
In addition, he acted as technical expert in some of the most important patent lawsuits, including the first dispute concerning patentability of software-implemented inventions and leading cases regarding enforcement of standard-essential patents in Brazil.
Andre has in-depth knowledge of patent consultancy (identifying patentable creations, drafting patent applications and conducting offensive and defensive patent reviews) as well as on patent prosecution and of the intricacies of the Brazilian PTO.

She regularly speaks as an expert at diverse seminars and courses related to intellectual property, patent drafting, and biotechnology.
Karina has also written her dissertation on technological forecasting, which resulted in the publication of several papers and book chapters.

Louis Lozouet
Partner and IP Attorney-at-law
Louis is an IP Attorney-at-Law with over 10 years of legal experience with international clients.
Previous to Venturini IP, he worked as a Director of Business Development for the largest IP group in Portuguese and Spanish speaking countries, helping develop IP portfolios of Brazilian companies and subsidiaries of foreign companies located in Brazil. Louis also had the opportunity to work as a Patent litigation specialist at one of the most renowned Brazilian Patent Litigation firms, with specific focus on the telecommunication (standard-essential patents), pharmaceutical and med-tech industries.
Louis is an expert in IP Strategic and Management Consulting, as well as Patent Licensing.
Due to his bicultural background and skills, Louis coordinates the firm’s French Desk together with André Venturini.
Louis Lozouet has been appointed since 2020 as the Ambassador for Brazil of the IP Business Academy, a global IP-management education platform affiliated to the CEIPI-Strasbourg. Together with Ambassadors from other parts of the world, Louis promotes the CEIPI IP Business Academy within his community to raise awareness by promoting its content through social platforms, and preferably in his national language, as well as providing case studies, teaching materials, and seminars.

Victor de Godoy
Partner and Patent Expert
Chemical engineer with 10+ years of experience in patents. He has worked in two of the largest law firms specializing in IP in Brazil and in a multinational petrochemical company as an in-house intellectual property analyst (Braskem S.A.).
Victor is a patent specialist with experiences that encompass activities such as drafting Brazilian and PCT patent applications, conducting Freedom to Operate Analysis (FTO), patent search and patentability analysis, as well as providing technical assistance in nullity and infringement lawsuits. Throughout his career, Victor also had the opportunity to act as a technical patent consultant for multinational companies in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and agrochemical sectors, as well as a global strategic support for research and development projects for polyolefins and catalysis of petrochemical processes and global manager of patent portfolios with a focus on Brazil, the United States and Europe.

Antonio Morschbacker
Science and Patent Expert
Antonio is a chemical engineer who joined Venturini IP as a Science and Patent Specialist.
Antonio most recently held key positions with a leading Brazilian IP litigation firm and with Brazilian Chemical and with Petrochemical giant Braskem as a Scientist, IP leader and R&D Director.
He has over 35 years of experience working with technology development projects in the Chemical Industry and as Technology Consultant with large-scale chemical/petrochemical companies.
Antonio has handled industrial property strategies and managed patent portfolios of large companies in diverse areas, including in fermentation processes, catalysts, fine chemicals, chlor-alkali technology, polyolefins, PVC, biotechnology and renewables products from bio-based feedstocks. He has worked closely with international patent offices, most notably in the United States and Europe.
As an inventor, Antonio holds 24 patent applications in different technologies (e.g., in the area of catalysts, fine chemicals products, polymers/polymerization and bio-based products).

Patrik Gandara
Patent Expert
Patrik is an Industrial pharmacist and research development and innovation (RD&I) specialist working with pharmaceutical patents and regulatory affairs in Brazil.
He started his IP career with a leading Brazilian IP firm providing technical support on patent prosecution and litigation. As part of his work he wrote statistical reports on the Brazilian PTO’s decisions and market intelligence issues.
More recently, Patrik acted as patent expert in the area of life sciences with a large Brazilian pharmaceutical company.

Adriane Nogueira Bonato
Trademark Expert
Adriane joined Venturini IP as a Trademark Specialist in 2022. She is an IP Attorney-at-law with more than 15 years of experience in the field, especially in managing large trademark portfolios for national and foreign clients of the most varied sizes and profiles, having deep expertise and experience in all stages of trademark prosecution, transfer of rights, and administrative disputes at the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office.
Adriane focuses on serving each client with promptness, quality and speed, globally evaluating all their interests, carefully weighing the risks involved in each operation and, above all, pointing out the best solutions for each case. Throughout her career, Adriane has also demonstrated skills in negotiation and mediation.

Átila Duque Rossi
Patent Expert
Researcher at the Laboratory of Molecular Virology (Department of Genetics, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ), with primary areas of investigation in human genetics, microbial genetics, and molecular epidemiology, Átila currently holds the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Genetics (UFRJ), with special interest on understanding susceptibility factors to infectious diseases.
