On Wednesday 1 April, the INPI (the Brazilian Patent Office) extended the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Pilot Program to include the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), as per the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions.

You can access more information (in Portuguese) here.

The PPH with South Korea is valid until March 31, 2025, and will cover all technological fields, limited to a maximum 400 applications per year (as we mentioned in our previous article).

The new PPH modal, which started in December 2019, already has agreements in place with over 20 countries, including the European Patent Office (EPO).
