On 12 May, the BRPTO (the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office) published Rule 179/2020, extending the suspension of all deadlines until May 31, 2020.

This further suspension is part of the INPI’s measures to deal with the COVID-19 crisis, which also includes temporary home office arrangements for its employees.

As a result, official deadlines will only start to run again on May 31 (or at the end of a further suspension period).
